Training

In the recent past there have been three EU Directives produced to set down the legal requirement to deal with money laundering and terrorist financing.

The First and Second Directives lay down certain requirements, one of which is the necessity for staff training. The level of training is dependent on the position held but, in all cases, it must be remembered that it is a statutory requirement not an option.

Training can comprise

  1. induction programmes for new members of staff
  2. updates on new legislation, such as the Fraud Act 2007 and the new Third EU Directive
  3. awareness training for senior management and their new obligations in respect of dealing with money laundering.
